One of only two left in the U.S. It started out as one of 500, 1938 Mack chassies.  When the Army Air Corps ordered 500 small, fire/crash trucks for the front lines, the 38's became 1942 models.  The other one is on display at the Wright-Patterson AFB Museum.  This one has been on display in the Virginia Fire and Police Museum for the past 25 years.  Runs GREAT!  Restored, except for flat glass cracks

B73 SER#2118 GREAT FOR RESTORE OR PARTS. HAS A RUNNIG 220 CUMMINS.15SPD.TANDAM AXLE , BUD WHEELS. COMES WITH EXTRA DRIVERS DOOR.

Truck is available , whole or parts. Truck was originally V8 , motor replaced with later model inline six (237?), turbocharged , runs well. Transmission is quad box , recently rebuilt by Transaxle in Cinaminson , NJ. 58,000# rears also rebuilt. Cab is straight , slightly rusty. Doors open and close nicely , but have rust along the bottom(not real bad). Fenders are straight , also slightly rusted. Hood is in poor shape. Radiator is nice , shutters are straight , has chrome cover sme surface rust. Has rooftop air unit looks to be in good shape. Square tanks , no dents or rust. Truck has 11X24 rubber , all hold air , but overall are in poor shape. Dump body I believe is Bristol Donald , but I'm not sure, basically in good shape , has new floor , but needs paint and some work on the tailgate(one of the locks is broken). Truck needs all glass , except rear window(damn kids). Worked site so it needs a good bath(could be arranged). Truck is no beauty queen , but it's almost all there and has alot of potential , the quad box alone cost 4500.00 to rebuild.
