Victorian (Murray Darling) Carpet Pythons

The images above show the very large Female (now living in NSW) and the Male's head (he has also been sold)

Pair introduced 09/08/2000

First mating seen 13/08/2000

Note the 'crossed' tails

Still mating on the 18/08/2000 - I think they may be stuck :-)

12/09/2000  Female noticed basking under the heat lamp belly upturned to face the heat - very good sign that she is gravid!

10/10/2000 Pre-lay shed

04/11/2000 Laid 25 eggs (8 of which have not been included below as they were slugs - infertile)

27/12/2000 The first juvenile has stuck it's head out of the egg.  Surprisingly it is number 4 (below) which looked unlikely to hatch.  Just goes to show that all eggs should be kept until you are sure that it is a dud.  Numbers 1, 6, 14 and 15 went rotten in the first few weeks after being laid.

07/05/2001 Below are a couple of poor quality pics of the juveniles (shown above in their white round state).
