Victorian (Murray Darling) Carpet Pythons

12/09/2000 Female noticed basking under the heat lamp belly upturned to face the heat - very good sign that she is gravid!
10/10/2000 Pre-lay shed
04/11/2000 Laid 25 eggs (8 of which have not been included below as they were slugs - infertile)
27/12/2000 The first juvenile has stuck it's head out of the egg. Surprisingly it is number 4 (below) which looked unlikely to hatch. Just goes to show that all eggs should be kept until you are sure that it is a dud. Numbers 1, 6, 14 and 15 went rotten in the first few weeks after being laid.
