Cape Yorks

Below are the pair of Cape Yorks Carpets that I attempted to breed in 2000.

The larger one is female.

She is the first snake I ever bought.

Unfortunately this image doesn't do her justice as she has a magnificent yellow/green tinge to her belly.

Male - note the nice colour and jungle type head markings.

Click on the image to enlarge if it is too small.

Male introduceed to female 17/08/2000.  Mating occured almost instantly.

       Female ovulating

08/10/2000 Pre-lay shed

05/11/2000 Laid 17 slugs :-(((((  Possible causes: Infertile male or female or male not cooled enough during winter to produce the sperm.  I will try again next year - wish me luck.
